Essential Standards for Medical Laboratories

NABH Standard for medical laboratory certification, 3rd Edition, May 2014 has been released. The standards provide framework for quality improvement for laboratories. The standard focuses on minimum standards for patient safety and quality of care.

 

Outline of NABH Standard:

 

Standard is divided into following seven clauses:

 

1. Organisation and management
2. Document control
3. Personnel
4. Laboratory equipment
5. Procurement of external supplies and services
6. Process control
7. Continual quality improvement
